Ingredients:
2 medium-sized apples (organic if possible)
1/2 cup of water
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger (or 1/2 inch fresh ginger, grated)
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Optional: A handful of raisins or chopped dates for natural sweetness
Instructions:
Prepare the Apples: Wash, core, and chop the apples into small cubes. You can peel them if you prefer, but keeping the skin on adds more fibre.
Cook the Apples: In a small saucepan, add the chopped apples, water, lemon juice, cinnamon, and ginger.
Simmer: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Cover the saucepan and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and have absorbed the flavours. If you’re using fresh ginger, remove any large pieces before serving.
